Bee Thiam Tan is the Founder and Executive Director of the Asian Film Archive, an organization that serves to save, explore and share the art of Asian Cinema. He is also on the organizing committee of the 3rd Southeast Asian Cinema Conference in Kuala Lumpur. A filmmaker himself, his short called Shelter: The City of Forgetting was the opening film for the .MOV International Digital Film Festival 2005 in Philippines.

Tan Bee Thiam leads and directs the Asian Film Archive (www.asianfilmarchive.org) as its founding executive director. To promote pro-active access to the archive resources for research, teaching and learning, he conducts and convenes workshops for educators. As a film curator, he programmes films and facilitates discussions on thinking about them critically. He also curates and produces the acclaimed Asian Film Archive Collection: Singapore Shorts and Royston’s Shorts. At the Nanyang Technological University , he teaches Asian Film History. He has performed jury work for the Hawaii International Film Festival and United Nations Association Film Festival. A filmmaker himself, his short film - Shelter: The City of Forgetting was the opening film for the MOV International Digital Film Festival in Philippines . He also makes pictures and is winner of awards such as the Best Photo Essay at the US-ASEAN Film & Photography Festival. A graduate from the National University of Singapore, he spent his final year in the Silicon Valley and Stanford as part of the Overseas Colleges Programme. His personal mission is to build a living film archive for our rich film heritage in Asia , one that is built to last.

 

Jeffrey Jeturian holds a communication arts degree from the University of the Philippines. He started as a production assistant for Marilou Diaz Abaya's Alyas Baby Tsina (1984) before embarking on a career as a script supervisor, production design, television director and, finally, as film director. His first two films, Sana Pag-ibig Na (1999), Pila Balde (1999) are both ciritically acclaimed. Tuhog / Larger Than Life (2001) featured in SIFF 2002. His film Bridal Shower (2003) was featured in last year's Cinemanila International Film Festival.
