Synopsis : Jessica is a young widowwith a four-year-old son, Manolito, who lives with her in a crowded boarding house. They share a room with Linda, who dreams of being released from bondage to poverty by getting paid in dollars as an overseas contract worker in Europe, but who is desperately looking for work in the city in the meantime. This situation conveniently provides Jessica with an amah, to free her for work and not have to be shackled to the chores created by an only child's growing up pains. When the boy disappears one day whilst under Linda's care, the world starts to collapse for both Jessicand Linda. The mother's longing for a son who has disappeared from view, carrying only his late father's name. Such is the fate the mother and child has to endure.

Bio : Briccio Santos, filmmaker, painter, and photographer, was born in Manila, Philippines in 1949. His first feature film was Manikang Papel (1970). In 1986, he made Damortis,ameditation on pain, trauma, and healing which he typically shot in 16mm, with the leadroles played by two painters, Roberto Avellana and Lito Carating. One of his major film projects is Cavaliers of Wind (1994), which was shown at the University of the Philippines Film Center.

Synopsis : In 1897, Andres Bonifacio, along with his younger brother Pocopio, was executed in the mountains for treason and sedition. Bonifacio, founder of the Katipunan and one of the leaders of the Philippine Revolution of 1896, was accused of being a traitor to the revolution by a rival faction that included Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Philippine Republic. There are a number of dramatic variations of the account of Bonifacio's execution In 2006, a younger brother moves out of his parents' house in the suburbs to a busier part of Manila after traveling in and out of the country for almost a year. His older brother moved out of the country a few years ago. Autohysteria is a collection of digitized memory of dreams and reality.

Bio : Rox Lee, known for his quirky animated short films, music and paintings, is a pioneer of supporting independent filmmaking and music. He eventually produced Sinekalye (street cinema), a group of independent filmmakers, visual artists and musicians who share this passion. Aiming to spread the influence of independently produced Filipino art throughout the Philippines and beyond, Rox Lee and Sinekalye has done this bit by bit by taking films and music out into the streets. His works include Bruce (2002), Batumbuhay (2003), as well as a segment he made in Imahe Nasyon (La Pula) --a collaboration of Filipino directors depicting the Edsa Revolution in different points of view.

Bio : Born in Manila, Jon Red studied painting at the Philippine Higshschool for the Arts and at the University of the Philippines. He attended a film workshop at the Mowelfund Film Institute. He wrote and directed his first short film “Es”,which won Jury Prize at the Mondiale dela Video in Brussels Belgium. He also directed the full-length digital “ASTIGmatism”, which won the Silver DV Award at the 28th Hong Kong International Film Festival (2004). “Pain Things” is his 7th full-length work.

Synopsis : There is my voice. There are tiltled screens of extended wings. There are non-stories of Filipino outsiders we've already met. Some shots stick out and they don't quite fit in. Some colors don't stand on their own so they're on top of each other. Some views don't mak sense so there are blank screen to close our eyes. This shold be the years when I was father's child outside.
